Actor Tamayo Perry tragically passes away at the age of 49 following a shark attack

 Tamayo Perry, a surfer, lifeguard, and actor known for his roles in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and “Blue Crush,” passed away on Sunday after a shark attack in Hawaii, as reported by the BBC. He was 49 years old.

The Associated Press stated that Honolulu Ocean Safety and emergency services responded to a call around 1 p.m. regarding a man who had suffered multiple shark bites near Mālaekahana Beach on Oahu’s North Shore. Paramedics brought Perry ashore on a jet ski, where he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

During a press conference, Kurt Lager, acting chief of Honolulu Ocean Safety, described Perry as "a lifeguard loved by all," according to the AP.
