 Dr. Ruth Westheimer, the pioneering sex therapist known for her candid discussions on once-taboo topics, has passed away at 96. Her death occurred on Friday at her New York City home, surrounded by family, confirmed her longtime friend and publicist, Pierre Lehu.


Westheimer's legacy was built on promoting open dialogue about sexuality, steering away from risky behavior and advocating for education and understanding. Despite her diminutive stature and distinctive German-accented voice, she became a widely recognized figure in media and publishing.
